Thomas is a double bass educator, consultant, and performer with over two decades of experience working with students, schools, and orchestras across Singapore.

Throughout his teaching career, he has helped students overcome technical challenges, prepare for auditions and examinations, improve ensemble performance, and build greater confidence on the instrument. His students have consistently achieved distinctions at the Singapore Youth Festival and other performance assessments.

Alongside teaching, Thomas maintains an active performing career. He has performed with ensembles including the Singapore Chinese Orchestra, The Christian Orchestra, Asian Cultural Symphony Orchestra, Singapore Lyric Opera Orchestra, Ding Yi Music Company, The TENG Ensemble, Singapore National Youth Orchestra, and The Philharmonic Orchestra. His performance work has taken him to stages in Vienna, Salzburg, China, and Taiwan.

During his National Service (2005–2007), Thomas served as a Double Bass musician with the Singapore Armed Forces Music & Drama Company, where he developed versatility across classical, jazz, classic rock, and Shanghai opera.

In 2018, Thomas was appointed Double Bass editor for the TENG Academy examination syllabus, contributing to the development of learning materials for young bassists. In recognition of his commitment to student development, he received the CCA Coach Award from Ngee Ann Polytechnic in 2020.

Today, Thomas focuses on helping bassists and their families gain clarity on the challenges they face. Whether through consultations, short-term coaching, or ongoing lessons, his goal is to identify the root causes holding students back and provide practical, experience-based solutions that lead to meaningful progress.
